hi,

attachment upload should be more userfriendly.
Some ideas:

- multifile upload (selected more than one file and upload)
- multifile upload (selected one more file while the upload of an other file ist running)
- extJS grid is filled with filename and progressbar while uploading
- permit sending while uploading, to prevent missing attachments while uploading

This options are quite interesting for people with slow internet connections. ;)

Best regards

thanks,
what do you think about a progressbar for the upload, the swfuploader should allow us to get the needed information.

Thanks

Hi,

we don't think that flash is the way to go.

Progress on file upload is part of HTML5 file api. We already have implemented all things needed for a progressbar. But as only chrome has bug free progress support at the moment, we disabled the progress UI for the moment.

@flash: fully agree seemed to be a flash uploader for me
@chrome what do you think on progressive enhancement. what meansbrowsers who are able to show progress show it, buggy browsers show an infinit loading bar what will disappear when ready...

finally here is a new suggestion on attachments:

some people asked me, if it would be possible to make attachments accessable after upload via double click ;)

Just an idea,

thanks

It's hard to determine if a browser support progress or not. For me it looks like buggy implementations in safari and FF. Moreover the HTML5 File Api is a bit of a moving target atm. So supporting a wide rage of browsers/versions is quite a bit of work.

To sum up: If I'm in charge, I'll take a look for the implementation state in a couple of month and decide to move on with progress or not. But if someone else is willing to do the cutting edge carework, I'll support this.

The dblclick download should be no problem even without html5. patches are welcome ;-)

Thanks for your great work, i'm involved in many projects this time.
Thats why I do only post usability enhancement ideas :) and the TYPO3 SSO Adapter.

Please move the progress into the not mandatory part of your bugtracker ;) - it was just an idea ;)

Best regards

Good point! I'm not sure if we asked already, but I would like to move the Typo3 SSO adapter into our svn.

But I can only do this, if you would like to sign our CLA. Which leads to question to be asked! :-)

Are you willing to sign out CLA?

I would like to sign the cla if it ensures that the code is licensed under the gpl, because it's based on GPL Software ;)
But i submitted the adapter code to http://www.single-signon.com/ for review and i'm waiting for the answere.

Please send my an PN or Mail to declare where to send the cla. - Thanks.
