Installation error

Postby smileyME » Thu Aug 30, 2012 5:47 pm

I searched for this kind of error but all I get are german topics and translator makes them very ... stupid. So here it is - when I try to install Tine 2.0, I get this message:

"Fatal error: Uncaught exception 'Zend_Session_Exception' with message 'Zend_Session::start() - /home/vol7/freehost/accountnumber/htdocs/tine/library/Zend/Session dot php(Line:479): Error #2 session_start() [<a href='function.session-start'>function.session-start</a>]: open(/php_sessions/tine20_sessions/sess_38f04461c2ee285382b58ca7f5fad2bd87510531, O_RDWR) failed: Permission denied (13) Array /home/vol7/freehost/accountnumber/htdocs/tine/library/Zend/Session dot php(Line:489): Error #2 session_write_close() [<a href='function.session-write-close'>function.session-write-close</a>]: open(/php_sessions/tine20_sessions/sess_38f04461c2ee285382b58ca7f5fad2bd87510531, O_RDWR) failed: Permission denied (13) Array /home/vol7/freehost/accountnumber/htdocs/tine/library/Zend/Session dot php(Line:489): Error #2 session_write_close() [<a href='function.session-write-close'>function.session-write-close</a>]: Failed to write session data (files). Please verify that the current setting of session.save_path is correct (/php_sessions/tin in /home/vol7/freehost/accountnumber/htdocs/tine/library/Zend/Session dot php on line 492"

I have a free hosting acc, so messing with upper level folders is out of limits. I can do everything from /accountnumber on, so changing /php_sessions/tine20... is out of limits, as I can't reach that folder. So is installation even possible from here or not?

The 'dot', 'accountnumber' and 'freehost' were put there on purpose as the forum thought I was a spammer so I had to edit it on my way - the point of the message is still the same.

you need a writable directory for your session files.

the session directory can be defined in the config.in.php file.
