Service release (2012-03-2) for Tine 2.0 Milan available

This service release fixes 65 bugs in the current stable release Milan (2012/03).

A small number of features has been introduced, too: It is now possible to export all customfield values of records in the default CSV export. Furthermore, customfields have been added to Timeaccounts in the Timetracker module.

It is recommended to update to the new packages as soon as possible.

"Milan" (2012-03) is ready for production

The Tine 2.0[1] project released its next major version "Milan" (2012-03). Packages for public download[3] and an online demo[2] have been deployed on the project page.

Focal points of this version are:

Filemanager
New Addressbook features
Improved search / filtering options
CalDAV and CardDAV Support
Smartphone synchronization

In total the Changelog[4] lists more than 350 new features and improvements.

- Filemanager -

The Filemanager is a new Tine 2.0 application for the collaborative working with files. It is possible to comfortably manage files and folders by using the graphical interface in the browser. You can set user permissions for any of your (and shared) folders like in all the other Tine 2.0 applications.
Thanks to HTML 5 support, you can upload multiple files at once. Even drag and drop from the operating systems filebrowser to the desired folder in Tine 2.0 is possible.
To include the Filemanager in other workflows, it is possible to access it via WebDAV. That allow it to integrate it in other desktop applications, for example the filebrowsers of Windows 7, Mac OS X, KDE or Gnome. The webserver that runs your Tine 2.0 application needs to be configured properly to allow the access via WebDAV.

- New Addressbook features -

The contact import now detects duplicate contacts and it is possible to merge them in a convinient way. This is done before the actual import.
If you have scanned a lot of business cards and need to add the to the Addressbook, you can use the new address-parsing feature that allows to define custom rules to detect the correct address parts. If not all the parts could be detected automatically, the remaining parts can be moved to their fields by drag and drop. Another new feature is the multiple edit of contact records. You just select as many contacts as you like and get a multi-edit capable dialog for these addresses.
Last but not least the integration of the Addressbook with the other applications has been greatly improved. It is now possible to create new events, leads, etc. for certain contacts and you can even add the contacts to existing events, leads and projects.

- Improved search / filtering options -

The search for records is now not only limit to the current application, but you can search in all related contacts, too. An example: you could search all contacts in the Addressbook that are linked to open leads from the CRM application.

- CalDAV and CardDAV Support -

Beginning with Tine 2.0 Milan it is possible to access you events and contacts from a CalDAV- or CardDAV-capable desktop program. Popular examples are Thunderbird (with Lightning), Apple iCal and all iOS devices.

- Smartphone synchronization -

The ActiveSync synchronization has been greatly improved: in the past, the sync had be reset and started from scratch each time an error occurred. Tine 2.0 is now able to save the synchronization state and continue just where the error happend. This leads to an increased battery longevity and more stable synchronization for users with bad connectivity.
