How to Become an official Translator
You want to help the Tine 2.0 project by providing tranasations in your language? Thats great! Becoming an official translator of Tine 2.0 is easy. All you need to to send us two things:
- A translation package with your translations included
- A signed version of our CLA
Moreover, please register yourself in our forum. You will be given the rank official Tine 2.0 translator The translators is the place to discuss all translations related topics.
Where to Find Translations Packages
The startpoint for you translations is the translation package for the current stable release. You find this package in our download section. In this package you find a translation template (<appname>.pot) for each application. With this templates you can create langfiles (<mylang>.po) using poedit.
If you are unsure or have problems with creating you langfiles, please contact us via this form. We'll create the langfiles for you and send them to you.
Before starting your translation please read carefully our translations howto.
After you Send us Your First Translations
Translating a software is a iterative process. Once you send us your first package, and the CLA we'll add them in our repository, update our langStats page and give you a test installation where you can see your translations in action. Based on this you can enhance you translations.
When you are translating the current development version, please wait with furthor translations till we send you a new translation package.
Claiming you Contributions
When your translations are accepted they will be commited to the official Tine 2.0 code repository. For each translator we create a new account in our SVN server. Your main benefit of it is, that you get the named honor for your contribution. Anyone interested in what Tine 2.0 is and analyzing the core will find your name in the automatically generated contributors lists.
You may want to 'claim' your contributions on ohloho the biggest open source analyzer out in the web. If you don't have, you need to signup a new account there and 'claim' your contributions in the contributors list.
