Version naming
Example (you find this information e. g. in the download area):
Codename: Mialena, Package String: 2010-03-7, Releasedate: 2010/10/12

| Package String: 2010-03-7 | Every major release has a package string containing year and month (like Ubuntu). This doesn't have to be exactly the month where the major release was published (e. g. Milena was planed for march, but was finally ready in june. That's why it is 2010-03). The last number of this string is the amount of updates/service releases, which is increased by every minor update. In this example, it's the 7th release of the 2010-03 version. |
| Releasedate: 2010/10/12 | This is the date when packages are added to the download area respectively the scheduled date in the tracker for not allready published versions. |
In other words: If the package string is higher than the version you have installed, your setup is outdated.
