Tagging Concept
Usage
- structuring element which is not forseen by the Tine system -> semantical meaning remains unclear
- examples: tags used as markers, list-flag, categorising (with/without hierarchy)
Types of tags
There will be 2 types of tags which differ in their access level from user to user (only view/view+add+delete/+edit):
- public/shared tags:
- they will be defined by the company which runs Tine (created + predefined by a super-user or administrator - he selects usage and amount of tags which will be where available to the users and to which user with which rights)
- users will mainly see a list of available tags and select/deselect them for a specific data entry (which others will see there too as public - maybe with a tooltip or so with the information which user added this tag at what time)
- administrator manages the tags & edits a synonym database
- private tags:
- there will be no restriction for the single user how and where which tags to use as private tags
- users can share calendars, addressbooks etc., but the private tags will never be available for other users
- the administration for the private tags will be similar to the administrator´s dialogue for the public tags, available through a button/link [manage]
- editing the tags will support the user through a livesearch while entering new tags which will give the user a preview of matching already entered tags
- the most used tags should be available as a dropdown on the right side of the textbox:
|ne_____________\/| |news | | tag#1| |newtag1 | | tag#2| |newtag2 | | tag#3|
View of tags:
- there is one specific place on the screen with a consistent look (like a box) and two seperated areas for the public and the private tags
- the private tags area might be minimizable, managable by a preference in the adminstration dialogue (if someone really doesn´t want to use them and wants more space for the public ones)
